Nimixa Tablets – Gastro-Targeted Antibiotic Therapy

Nimixa is a specialized antibiotic containing Rifaximin that acts specifically within the digestive tract. The 200mg dose is indicated for the treatment of traveler’s diarrhea caused by noninvasive bacterial strains in patients over 12 years of age. The 550mg dose is used for a more chronic purpose: reducing the risk of overt hepatic encephalopathy (HE) recurrence in adult patients with advanced liver disease. By reducing toxin-producing bacteria in the gut, Nimixa helps protect brain function and significantly lowers the frequency of hospitalizations related to liver disease complications. Because it is not absorbed into the body, it has a high safety profile with minimal systemic side effects.
