Celbex is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) designed to provide targeted relief from chronic pain and inflammation. It is primarily indicated for the relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in adults. Additionally, it is utilized for the symptomatic treatment of ankylosing spondylitis and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in children aged 2 years and older. Celbex is also a powerful option for managing acute pain, particularly moderate to severe pain following surgical procedures. Clinically, it is effective in treating primary dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual cramps). In specialized care, Celbex is used to reduce the number of adenomatous colorectal polyps in patients with FAP as an adjunct to standard treatment. As a selective COX-2 inhibitor, it is designed to be gentler on the stomach than older classes of NSAIDs. This makes it a preferred choice for patients requiring long-term anti-inflammatory therapy to maintain mobility and reduce chronic discomfort.
